Chiefs Show Flashes in 1st Scrimmage vs West Valley: 8-1

The Chiefs displayed a balanced offense and swarming defense in front of large contingent of supporters this past Friday night at Taft High School. The Eagles came to play, however, the Chiefs proved to have too many weapons this particular evening racking up 8 touchdowns in 30 offensive plays while allowing just 1.

The entire offense shared in the wealth as J.D., Cameron, and Bookie all broke long touchdown runs and the trio combined for 6 scores on the ground. Both Mateen and Jauq hooked up with Casey for a touchdown reception a piece respectively. The Defense looked dominant at times showing flashes of the aggressive brand of football they intend to display this season.

All in all, it was a total team effort in which several different players contributed on both sides of the ball. The staff hopes to sustain this momentum as they prepare the squad for an upcoming scrimmage against the Pasadena Ponies.
